L&#8217;obiettivo dello studio \u00e8 di valutare l&#8217;efficacia del trattamento VR non-immersivo per il ripristino della funzione motoria dell&#8217;arto superiore e il suo impatto sulle attivit\u00e0 delle capacit\u00e0 di vita quotidiana nei pazienti post-ictus.<\/p>\n<p>E&#8217; stato condotto uno studio clinico pragmatico tra i pazienti post-ictus ricoverati nell&#8217;ospedale di riabilitazione IRCCS Fondazione Ospedale San Camillo. Sono stati arruolati 376 soggetti che hanno avuto un sotto-punteggio motorio dell&#8217;arto superiore tra 1 e 3 nella versione italiana del National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (It-NIHSS) e senza gravi alterazioni neuropsicologiche che interferiscono con il recupero. I pazienti sono stati assegnati a due gruppi di trattamento, ricevendo terapia dell&#8217;arto superiore combinata VR e\u00a0 convenzionale (ULC) o solo terapia ULC. I programmi di trattamento consistevano in 2 ore di terapia giornaliera, erogate 5 giorni alla settimana, per 4 settimane. Le misure di outcome erano le scale Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity (F-M UE) e Functional Independence Measure (FIM).<\/p>\n<p>Entrambi i trattamenti hanno migliorato significativamente i punteggi F-M UE e FIM, ma il miglioramento ottenuto con la riabilitazione VR \u00e8 stato significativamente maggiore rispetto a quello ottenuto con la sola terapia ULC. La dimensione dell&#8217;effetto stimato della differenza minima tra i gruppi nei punteggi F-M UE e FIM \u00e8 stato di 2,5 \u00b1 0,5 (P <0,001) pts e 3,2 \u00b1 1,2 (P = 0,007) pts, rispettivamente.
