It is called VRRS (Virtual Reality Rehabilitation System) and it is one of the most advanced equipment in the field of rehabilitation. Designed to facilitate the path of motor and/or neurological rehabilitation (such as stroke, trauma, prosthetic interventions, neurological diseases), exploits the technology of virtual reality. But what do we mean by virtual reality? And how can a “virtual” machine give real benefits in this area? We talk about it with Dr. G. Pietro Salvi, Head of the U.O. of Rehabilitation of the Quarenghi Clinic of San Pellegrino Terme, a structure which has always been particularly sensitive to health technological innovations aimed at improving clinical and rehabilitative treatments, among the first medical centers in Italy to adopt this method.
